In Part 1 of reflections from coaches I talked about Philosophy.

Am I actually doing what I should be doing?
Am I sticking to my Philosophy?

It’s one thing to know your Philosophy, it’s another thing to be doing it.

The tricky thing is when early on it doesn’t seem to be working.
You know it should work, but you don’t see any early change.

And there is a temptation to go back to the old way of doing things or the easy way so that you can see quick change.

Arsenal lost 3 – 1 against Aston Villa on the first game of the current Premier League season.
After that game everyone was saying that Arsene Wenger should be sacked.

Now many games latter we are top of the table and he’s set to sign on for another 2 years.

No matter how things are going or what people have said Arsene has stuck to his football Philosophy.

You might not see change straight away, but if you stick to your Philosophy you will see change.
